Parish Clerk Vacancy

Uley Parish Council has an immediate vacancy for a Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer.

Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with tact and diplomacy.

A sound understanding of the powers and responsibilities of Parish Councils is necessary as are well developed IT skills and financial literacy. The Clerk / RFO is responsible for all aspects of the Parish budget and financial management.

Other duties will include preparation of agendas, minute taking and dealing with residents, contractors and local government officers at all tiers.

This is a home-based position for 10 hours per week to include attendance at Parish Council meetings which are held on the first Wednesday evening of each month in the Village Hall. Attendance at additional meetings may be required and applicants should be able to offer a level of flexibility.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience based on NJC scale 7- 8 £19,554 to £19,945 pa (pro rata £5285 – £5,390 for the anticipated hours). Candidates should either hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration or be prepared to achieve the qualification.
