Uley Parish Council has, over the last few months, been reviewing their budget for the new financial year – April 2022 to March 2023 and at the Council meeting on 12thJanuary 2022 took the difficult decision to raise its share of the Council Tax. The Councillors agreed to raise the precept to £21,470 this is an overall increase of approximately £2,760 from the previous year. This rise equates to an average (Band D) annual increase of a modest £4.40 per property within the parish.
The rise is considered to be required by the Parish Councillors to prevent a further decrease in the Council’s reserves, which has occurred in recent years and the anticipated increased inflation costs for all council activities.
This budget will enable Uley Parish Council to maintain the current levels of grass cutting, hedge cutting, strimming and other ad hoc general maintenance in the village, which has until recent times, been done by Gloucestershire County Council but has been reduced.
