Jim Dewey

My family and I have lived in Uley for more than 30 years and we have always valued village life.  I have been Chairman of the Uley Primary School PTA and coached the U13s cricket team. I am on the Prema Arts Centre Committee and CDU Greenways Committee where we are looking to promote a cycle path from Uley to Dursley and Cam railway station. I sing in the Uley Allsorts choir when time permits.

Although most of my working life has been spent in Information Technology, I graduated as a geography and geology teacher. This knowledge has made me very aware of practices harmful to our environment.

I joined Uley Parish Council in 2014 and in 2016 I was honoured to be elected as a Green Party Councillor for the Stroud District Council ward of Coaley, Nympsfield and Uley. I am a member of the Environment Committee, the Development and Control Committee and the Planning Review Board of Stroud District Council. Since joining SDC I have stepped down as a parish councillor.
