Vodafone/Telefonica will hold a drop-in session to provide information on their proposals for a new telecommunications mast for Uley on 9th July, in the Village Hall, between 4:30 and 7.30 pm.
Information has now been provided in the form of coverage maps for two possible locations. One is for a 12m lattice tower at Whitecourt Covered Reservoir, as previously announced, and the second is for a 20m tower at a new location within Lampern Woods. Note that a third option at Owlpen was examined but ruled out as not providing sufficient coverage.
The coverage maps and a location map are available by following these links:
It is understood that Vodafone/Telefonica see the purpose of the drop in session as an opportunity for members of the community to review the Lampern Wood and Whitecourt Reservoir alternative sites. Designs and photomontages of both sites will be available so that the community will be able to assess the impact of both.
Vodafone/Telefonica state that the coverage from both locations is acceptable to them as operators so the decision from the drop in session is for the community to decide which of the two options is preferable.
