 COUNCILLOR - TONY MILLS

I was born and brought up in Wiltshire, leaving home to attend university in 1977.

I started my working as a Mechanical Design Engineer with Listers in Dursley but spent most of my career in leadership roles in IT companies and in house IT departments across various industries eventually closing the circle by retiring from a financial services company in Bath, the city where I had earned my degree, 37 years earlier.

I moved to Uley from Dursley with my wife and young children in 1990 living initially in Green Close and moving to Shadwell in 1998. Both our children went to Uley school.

Retirement has given me the opportunity to gain some new skills and put some old ones to new uses. I have become a keen photographer and a more accomplished DIYer and various volunteering activities have allowed me to put both my business and IT experience to good use.

On joining Uley Parish Council in 2022 I become part of the Finance sub-committee and represent the Council on the Uley Playing Fields Committee.

        COUNCILLOR  -  TRACEY MASON-FAYLE

As a young person I became a legal secretary.  I went into Early years,  before I had children and I have been an Early years educator on and off for many years.

I have four children, and 3 grandchildren.  I run a Stay and Play children’s group in the Village Hall, as I recognise the value of a parent and child group and how it can support families.  Parents and Grandparents discuss current issues while addressing the need for their children’s collaborative play and socialisation.  I am the Early Years parish councillor.

I have been on many committees and have been both Chair and Vice-chair of two different schools Governors.  I am currently studying for a degree in Childhood and Youth, which addresses current emotional issues that young children, and particularly youths, encounter in their daily lives.  This year I am Chair of the Uley Players amateur dramatic group.

I see myself in a supportive role, listening to peoples’ issues and seeing how needs can be met to support well-being.  I am on the committee of the Patients Participation Group for Uley and Cam Practice.

         COUNCILLOR  -  GEOFF KEEN

I initially come from London and have now lived in the Cotswolds for thirty five years. My wife, Sue, and I are Newcomers to Uley, having moved here last August. Previously we lived in Wotton under Edge, having relocated as a family in 1988. Whilst in Wotton I was on the Town Council for many years and was Mayor for two of them. I was involved in the setting up of Wotton Arts Centre and sat on their Committee. Also I was the Treasurer for six years for Wotton Sports Foundation.

I am now retired, my last post was as Bursar for Katharine Lady Berkeley School for fifteen years. I have always worked in Administration and HR.

I have recently become Treasurer for Friends of St Giles Uley and am a member of the Uley Society.

In my spare time I enjoy watching some Sports, gardening, photography, walking and spending time with my family, which now includes five Grandchildren.

I look forward to continuing to work with the people of Uley.

                COUNCILLOR  -  SEAN SAGE

I was born and brought up in Winterbourne and moved into Bristol in my early 20’s, I moved to Uley 12 years ago with my wife and two daughters. I have spent most of my life playing all kinds of sport and played semi-professional football for several years in and around Bristol.

After starting life as a greenkeeper at Thronbury Golf centre I soon became involved in the property industry, initially as an estate agent in Bristol but then moving into being an insurance professional with Endsleigh and Zurich in Cheltenham looking after insurance for complex residential portfolios and property. I’m currently completing my studies to be a residential building surveyor and looking to be qualified this summer.

Since I moved to Uley I have been involved in many initiatives and sat on the Playing Field committee for a couple of years. I am now chairman of Uley cricket club and have been for several years, we are a welcoming club with a proactive committee who play in the Stroud premier league, we also run youth programmes on a Saturday morning.

I joined the parish council to be able to ‘do my bit’ for the community and ensure we continue to have a thriving village that is a lovely place to live.
